Job Description
The Human Resources Officer will provide efficient human resources support across the organisation and contribute to organisational growth by ensuring that employees are effectively recruited, integrated, developed and supported.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Coordinate recruitment processes, including advertising, screening, background checks, interviews, report writing, offers, contracts and appointment administration.
- Coordinate employee onboarding, orientation and probation processes.
- Process the full monthly payroll accurately and within the required deadlines, including employee appointments, terminations, salary changes, benefits and deductions.
- Prepare monthly payroll accruals and ensure the accurate and timely processing of statutory and third-party payments.
- Ensure payroll compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and organisational procedures.
- Maintain accurate employee and payroll records.
- Respond to employee queries relating to salaries, benefits, deductions and other payroll matters.
- Support training, employee engagement, organisational culture, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with Namibian labour legislation and organisational policies.
- Supervise and support direct reports and oversee day-to-day office support.
Education + Experience
- A degree in Human Resources Management or an equivalent qualification.
- At least two years’ experience in HR administration, including hands-on experience in processing monthly payroll.
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll processing, payroll accruals, statutory deductions and third-party payments.
- Sound knowledge of Namibian labour legislation and payroll-related statutory requirements.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email and payroll systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality when handling payroll information.
- Ability to work independently, meet strict payroll deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
- Practical experience with PAYE, Social Security, medical aid and pension fund administration.
- Knowledge of Affirmative Action.
- Recruitment experience.
- Previous experience in an NGO environment.
